## Original release

Fly-through animation of the new $910 million Rouse Hill Hospital has been released, giving the community in Sydney’s northwest a virtual look inside the new health service. The release of the fly-through comes as the project reaches a major construction milestone, with piling works for the hospital’s structural foundations now complete. More than 220 foundation piles have been installed across the site, providing the underground foundations to support the building that will soon rise out of the ground. The NSW and Commonwealth Governments are partnering to deliver the new public hospital which will provide comprehensive, integrated healthcare to support the growing northwest Sydney region now and into the future. The virtual tour showcases a range of spaces within the new hospital, including modern inpatient and outpatient facilities, clinical areas, main entry and landscaped recreational spaces, all designed to create a safe, welcoming and patient-centred environment. The fly-through also provides communities a first look at the new maternity unit, funded by a $90 million investment from the Minns Labor Government and $120 million commitment from the Commonwealth in 2025. The facilities will deliver more birthing services closer to home for families in Sydney’s northwest. Treatment spaces in the renal and paediatrics units are also featured, which have been designed to maximise access to natural light and provide comfort for patients. A new pedestrian and cycle path will be located to the south of the hospital, linking it to Rouse Hill Town Centre and Rouse Hill Metro Station and improving access for patients, staff and visitors. A multi-storey carpark will be built as part of the development, including up to 700 parking spaces, making it easier to access care and services. Construction will be accompanied by the Windsor Road Upgrade, delivered in partnership by Transport for NSW and Health Infrastructure to improve access to the new Rouse Hill Hospital and support growing communities across the North West. Stage 1 will upgrade Commercial Road between Windsor Road and Caddies Boulevard, while Stage 2 will upgrade Windsor Road between Schofields Road and Mile End Road. Works include widening Windsor Road to three lanes in each direction, new bus lanes, intersection upgrades and a shared path. Key features of the new Rouse Hill Hospital are: - an emergency department - comprehensive birthing services including birthing rooms and a maternity inpatient unit - inpatient beds and day surgery services - short stay medical assessment services - pathology, pharmacy, and medical imaging services - outpatient and ambulatory care services including paediatrics and renal dialysis and antenatal and postnatal services - virtual care and hospital in the home services - prehabilitation, rehabilitation and lifestyle medicine. Construction timelines will be confirmed once a main works contractor has been appointed. With more than 17,000 patients from the Rouse Hill area estimated to present at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals each year, these new facilities will greatly improve access to care and ease pressure on the health system. The facility is being delivered by Health Infrastructure in partnership with Western Sydney Local Health District, with Lendlease engaged as the early works contractor. The award of the main works construction contract is expected to be finalised by the end of the year.
