## Original release

Families in South Western Sydney will have another option for essential health services, with the Minns Labor Government establishing a one stop shop for healthcare in Campbelltown’s CBD as part of a $35 million healthcare investment in the region. The Integrated Health Hub is expected to reduce pressures on Liverpool and Campbelltown Hospitals, which are among the busiest in Australia, allowing higher acuity care to be prioritised for those who need it most. The Hub will deliver non-acute healthcare services such as primary care, preventative care, chronic disease management and early intervention services in one location making it easier for the community to access healthcare. With services tailored to local needs, this community model is part of a commitment from the Minns Government to establish two Integrated Health Hubs in the Macarthur region, with the other planned for nearby Wilton. Connectivity with commercial and retail centres, public transport and parking will be considered for site selection, helping to reduce accessibility gaps, particularly for those in vulnerable populations. Funding for the Integrated Health Hubs come under the Minns Labor Government’s 2026-27 record Budget investment of $10.3 billion for more staff, more services and more hospitals. This is in addition to the $11.9 billion to deliver expanded services across 32 new or upgraded health facilities in NSW including the new Bankstown and Rouse Hill Hospitals, while also easing pressure on the system by increasing access to care through alternate pathways, including: - Investing in virtual and urgent care services. - Supporting geriatric outreach and Hospital in the Home. - Expanding scope of practice for pharmacists to treat uncomplicated skin conditions, UTIs, ear infections, wound care, chronic disease management as well as contraceptive pill resupply and prescribing. - Expanding scope of practice for GPs to diagnose and treat ADHD. Quotes attributable to Premier Chris Minns: “South Western Sydney is growing, and families need more options for healthcare close to where they live, without having to travel long distances or rely on busy emergency departments. “That’s what we’re doing here, bringing more healthcare into the community while making sure our hospitals can focus on the patients who need them most. “We're building more hospitals, recruiting more staff and now bringing more healthcare out of hospitals and into local communities.” Quotes attributable to Deputy Premier and Minister for Western Sydney, Prue Car: “Families in Campbelltown and across South West Sydney deserve to receive the care and services they need without having to rely on a busy emergency department. “For too long we have seen enormous pressures on hospitals across Western Sydney as a result of the Liberals’ lack of planning and care for major health infrastructure, and this Integrated Health Hub is another part of Labor’s work in strengthening a health system close to where people live. “The Minns Labor Government is not only building and upgrading our local hospitals, but we’re also making sure local families can access the right care, close to home, before they reach the hospital doors.” Quotes attributable to Minister for Health, Ryan Park: “We know that preventative healthcare and early intervention can make a significant difference to patient health outcomes as well as reduce pressure on our health system. “The community in South Western Sydney is rapidly growing, so it’s vital we expand our essential services to meet their needs and better support the region’s busy hospitals. “This exciting new model of Integrated Health Hubs is a leap forward for healthcare in NSW, and I’m thrilled the burgeoning Macarthur community will be the first to benefit from it. “The Minns Government is investing in more beds, more staff and community-based healthcare so people can receive better care closer to home.” Quotes attributable to Member for Macquarie Fields, Anoulack Chanthivong: “This significant investment in healthcare services will help growing communities across south-west Sydney manage chronic conditions, reduce hospital pressure and lead healthier lives closer to home.” Quotes attributable to Member for Campbelltown, Greg Warren: “The planned Campbelltown CBD location of the Integrated Health Hub will provide proximity to a range of education facilities and health and community services, including Western Sydney University and the Campbelltown Health and Education Precinct. “The centralised location will help to better connect the community with NSW Government agencies, human services, primary care, universities, and community centres, and improve overall access to these services.’’ Quotes attributable to Member for Leppington, Nathan Hagarty: “South Western Sydney is growing rapidly, and our health services need to keep up. “These new health hubs will make it easier for local families of Leppington to access the care they need, closer to home, while taking pressure off our busy hospitals.” Quotes attributable to Member for Camden, Sally Quinnell: “Once established, the hubs will not only provide a better patient experience, but also better value for NSW taxpayers as we direct them away from more expensive acute facilities and towards appropriate community-based options.” Quotes attributable to South Western Sydney Local Health District Chief Executive Sonia Marshall: “The Integrated Health Hub at Campbelltown will combine community, outpatient and virtual healthcare services in an accessible CBD location and focus on prevention, early intervention and chronic disease management. “This will enable hospitals, particularly Campbelltown Hospital, to focus on higher acuity and more complex care.’’
