Governor Gavin Newsom has signed comprehensive legislation to expand wildfire prevention efforts across California, marking a significant investment in protecting communities from the growing threat of wildfires.

The new legislation includes multiple bills that will strengthen California's wildfire prevention and response capabilities.

Key provisions of the legislation include:

  • Increased funding for vegetation management and fuel reduction
  • Enhanced early warning systems and emergency communications
  • Expanded community wildfire protection plans
  • Strengthened building codes for fire-resistant construction
  • Improved coordination between state and local agencies

"This legislation represents our most comprehensive approach to wildfire prevention yet," said Governor Newsom.
