Department of Health and Social Care · Original source

The government is investing almost £140 million in 14 new urgent care schemes across England, including urgent treatment centres, same day emergency care services, new ambulance fleets and emergency department upgrades. A further 25 new or expanded urgent care sites announced in April will open for winter. Health and Social Care Secretary Yvette Cooper said winter would be more challenging after a record summer of NHS activity. Over 7.4 million flu vaccinations had been delivered in England by 11 October.
