PM confident every rough sleeper will have route off the street by Christmas as funding doubles
Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced a further £432 million to tackle rough sleeping, to be confirmed at the Budget, taking total investment behind his commitment to £874 million and extending support to the end of this Parliament. He said everyone sleeping rough would be offered a route off the street or wider support before Christmas. A first Rough Sleeping Summit at Downing Street brought pledges including at least 2,000 potential homes and bedspaces via the National Housing Federation and £10 million from the Julia Rausing Trust.
