Governor Hochul Signs Legislation to Establish Little Yemen as a Cultural District
New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation A7033D/S6487C designating Little Yemen in the Bronx as a cultural district, making cultural organizations within it potentially eligible for state grant assistance. The district spans from White Plains Road on the west to Bronxdale Avenue on the east and north and Van Nest Avenue on the south. It joins East Harlem’s “El Barrio” and the Harlem Renaissance Cultural District as recognized cultural districts.
