Governor Ned Lamont, Attorney General William Tong and Office of Early Childhood Commissioner Elena Trueworthy urged the Trump administration to withdraw a proposed HHS rule that would remove most federal Head Start performance standards. Connecticut submitted written opposition, warning the changes would cut requirements on teaching, staffing and group size and reduce the administrative cost cap from 15% to 5%. Head Start serves about 5,600 Connecticut children from birth to age 5.

Governor Ned Lamont secured a U.S. Small Business Administration disaster declaration for Fairfield County and contiguous New Haven and Litchfield counties after flash flooding on September 13, 2026. Homeowners, renters, businesses and nonprofits can apply for low-interest loans, including up to $500,000 for home repairs and up to $2 million for businesses. Physical damage applications are due December 1, 2026, and a temporary outreach center opens in Bridgeport on October 7.

Governor Ned Lamont and the Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing and Tourism launched the Connecticut TV-to-Table Trail, a statewide culinary tourism route featuring local chefs and restaurants that have appeared on national food television shows such as Chopped and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The launch event at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center was hosted by James Beard Award-winning chef Scott Conant. The trail is online at ConnecticutTVtoTable.com.
