Gov. Pritzker Requests FEMA Disaster Assistance for Recent Severe Weather Across Illinois
15 Sep 2026Governor JB Pritzker requested a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration from FEMA after a derecho and severe weather impacted eight Illinois counties from August 11–16, 2026. He also extended a Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation so state resources remain available for response and recovery.
