Arizona has joined Nevada’s lawsuit challenging the federal framework for Colorado River operations after 2026, prompting statements from Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo and Southern Nevada Water Authority General Manager John Entsminger. Lombardo said the federal plan unfairly burdens the Lower Basin without requiring meaningful Upper Basin cuts. Entsminger cited flaws in the Environmental Impact Statement and said SNWA is still working with California and Arizona on a Lower Basin deal to ease demands on Lake Mead.

The Nevada Attainable Housing Council approved about $38 million from the Nevada Attainable Housing Account for 10 projects expected to support 891 attainable homes and rental units, Governor Joe Lombardo’s office said. The funding round drew 23 applications seeking $119.79 million. The approved projects include 454 homes for sale and 437 rental apartments across Southern Nevada, Northern Nevada, rural communities and Carson City.

Governor Joe Lombardo directed the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol to suspend enforcement of the state's red-dyed diesel restrictions on public highways, provided the IRS does not impose penalties under President Trump's executive order. Administrative fines incurred during the federal order's period will be waived by the Nevada DMV. The federal order, signed October 5, runs through December 31, 2026.

Governor Joe Lombardo joined Amperesand in Reno to mark the opening of the company’s new advanced manufacturing facility. Amperesand, which makes medium voltage solid state transformers for connecting large power users to the grid, plans more than 1,200 high-skill Nevada jobs by 2028. The company has committed more than $65 million to Nevada manufacturing, including over $15 million for its current facility.

Governor Joe Lombardo joined Ryder Homes to break ground on Wilson Landing, a 37-home for-sale development in Fernley, Nevada. It is among the first Northern Nevada projects supported by the Nevada Attainable Housing Account created under Assembly Bill 540, with a $5 million low-interest loan from the Nevada Housing Division. The homes of 1,300 to 1,700 square feet will serve households earning up to 150 percent of area median income.
