OpenAI has set out a phased approach to text watermarking in response to the EU AI Act. API customers globally can now opt in to watermarking for select models, and invisible watermarks will be added to eligible ChatGPT and Codex text output in the European Union over the coming weeks. Access to its textGrain detector will initially be limited to approved researchers and expert organizations, as detection weakens on short or edited text.

Cohere launched North 2, an upgrade to its North agentic AI platform for enterprises, built around a redesigned agent orchestration system with skills, libraries, memory, application creation and automations. The release adds connectors including Slack, SharePoint, Jira, Notion and GitHub, plus North Admin controls for token spend, rate limits and user quotas. North 2 is model agnostic and can run in the cloud, on-premises or in air-gapped deployments.

NVIDIA highlighted four NVIDIA Inception startups using its AI infrastructure to address gaps in breast cancer care, from screening to treatment planning. iSono Health’s FDA-cleared ATUSA wearable 3D ultrasound scans each breast in about two minutes, Whiterabbit.ai offers FDA-cleared WRDensity breast density software, Ataraxis AI predicts treatment response from pathology slides, and SimBioSys builds 3D tumor models. The companies run AI training and inference on NVIDIA GPUs in clinics, data centers and the cloud.

PwC and Cohere have formed a global alliance, starting in Canada, aimed at helping organisations move secure enterprise AI from pilots into production. The partnership pairs Cohere’s North agentic AI platform, enterprise models and retrieval tools with PwC’s industry, risk, regulatory and transformation expertise. Clients can apply it to enterprise search, deep research, decision support and task automation, deployed in private cloud, on-premises or air-gapped environments.

OpenAI is introducing a visual ad format in ChatGPT, which it says reaches 1.2 billion people each week, with testing during image generation due to begin later this month in the US with an initial group of advertisers. The company also expanded ChatGPT Ads measurement through integrations with Hightouch, Tealium and LiveRamp and attribution partners such as AppsFlyer and Triple Whale. It is piloting brand suitability evaluations with DoubleVerify and Integral Ad Science.

Google is expanding its free Google AI Educator Series to all 650,000 educators in the UK and Ireland, offering teacher-led virtual and in-person sessions on using AI for lesson planning, administrative tasks and tailored instruction. The programme, first offered to 6 million US educators and recently extended to India and Korea, awards micro-credentials and badges on completion. Google also worked with the National Governance Association on an AI Policy Toolkit for school governors and trustees.
