The Temora Hospital Redevelopment has reached a major milestone, with the structure for the eastern wing of the new building now complete.
The NSW Government is investing $95 million in the Temora Hospital Redevelopment, which will deliver a modern health facility with expanded services under one roof for Temora and surrounding communities.
The eastern wing’s external structure is now complete, with roofing, windows and doors installed, paving the way for the next stage of works.
For the first time, once complete, the new hospital will offer CT services and a new ultrasound service, significantly improving local access to diagnostic imaging.
The redevelopment will also include:
- a state-of-the-art operating theatre and procedure room in the new perioperative suite
- an expanded medical imaging unit
- a new emergency department
- a birthing suite and nursery
- a flexible inpatient unit supporting maternity, medical, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative care admissions
- allied health and ambulatory clinics, including a gymnasium
- community health, mental health, drug and alcohol services
- pathology collection services
- improved car parking for patients, staff and visitors
- separate emergency and service vehicle entry.
With the building structure now complete, work will progress on the internal fit-out and installation of furniture, fittings and equipment, as well as external works and landscaping.
The community has played an important role in shaping the design of the new hospital, with ongoing consultation helping identify and preserve significant heritage items that will be incorporated into the redevelopment.
The new hospital is being delivered in stages, with health services continuing to operate throughout construction and every effort being made to minimise impacts to patients, staff and visitors.
The project is being delivered by Health Infrastructure in partnership with Murrumbidgee Local Health District and Richard Crookes Constructions.
The redevelopment is expected to be completed in 2028.
The Minns Labor Government is investing $11.9 billion to deliver more beds and expanded services across 32 new or upgraded health facilities in NSW as part of the 2026-27 budget. This includes nearly $3 billion over four years for hospitals across regional NSW.
