Police are seeking the public's help after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a vehicle on Evenden Road, Twyford, in Hawke's Bay on 11 October. Detective Katie Francis said the vehicle involved left the scene, and the crash is believed to have happened between about 11.40am and 12.05pm. Appeal for information after serious incident in Mangere

Police are appealing for information after a serious assault outside a private address in Harwell Place, Mangere, Auckland, at about 12.30pm on 10 October. Detective Senior Sergeant Veronica McPherson said a firearm is understood to have been involved, and two people needed medical attention but are in a stable condition. Appeal for information following fatal crash, Te Puke

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal one-vehicle crash on Te Puke Highway near Rangiuru Road at about 10.50am on 10 October. Detective Senior Sergeant Natalie Flowerdew-Brown said a white 2005 Toyota Caldina crashed after being driven down Brown Road at high speed. Footage sought following fatal crash on Dyers Pass Road, Canterbury

Police have named the cyclist who died in a crash on Dyers Pass Road, Christchurch, on Friday 9 October as 79-year-old Michael James Hancock of Christchurch. Police were alerted at about 10.20am to the crash on the Governors Bay side of the hill. They are seeking CCTV or dashcam footage of the area from that morning and still want to speak to the driver of a white hatchback, quoting file 261009/4488.

Man arrested following firearms incident in Rotorua

Police arrested a man in Owhata, Rotorua, at 1.40am on 11 October after a sawn-off shotgun was allegedly pointed at a police officer the previous afternoon. The driver, wanted for breaching release conditions, had earlier been seen driving dangerously, prompting an Armed Offenders Squad, dog team and Eagle helicopter response and a temporary general arming order. Superintendent Will Loughrin said charges are pending.
